“Quiet Here, Just the Way I Like It”

Okay, that’s a quote from Broken Cowboy, arguably my favorite song from the Dead South. Great honkey Tonk flavored string band.

It is very quiet here, and it’s wonderful to spend the day with my own thoughts. I’ve done stuff. Got the dishes going. Worked on a drawing of a giant centipede executioner demon. Going to fold my laundry soon. Regular stuff people do.

I heard an intelligent podcast this morning, Religion in the Morning, in this case talking about the history of Grimoires. Heady stuff.

I hope to finish the landscape paintings I’m engaged in. I’ve worked off-and-on on them four almost two months, and it’s time to wrap them up before I lose interest. Nothing is ever really finished, there just comes a time when you can’t bear to look at it anymore.

I have some deep issues going on in my head, but I’ll dig into them when (if) they solidify into a cogent subject. That’s life in my head.

Scott.
