I hope he thanks the cool alien human shrimp guy!
Have no doubt, I’m sure he will. Triops is great to have around.
Yep. Get someone who’s bipolar past the point where they still have energy from their ‘up’ phase, and suicide suddenly becomes much less likely. Greg’s just going to be depressed now, at least until he starts climbing up the cycle again. Hopefully, though, he’ll have gotten some help by then. (As in a shitload of lithium, I’m guessing)
Not that I’m knocking Victoria and Danny’s role. Timing, as they say, is everything.
Thanks, Rob. Had I known about your situation, I might have hit you up for some consulting; but, then, these things are sensitive, so I probably wouldn’t have bothered you. I did my research, and talked with a few bipolar folks, and I made every effort to make it seem believable and organic. I personally think I pulled it off without making light of this very serious condition.
On the other hand, things are so dour and overplayed in comics, and I thought, while Manic Greg didn’t enjoy his state, he was fun to write.
Believe it or not, with this issue our long study of mental illness comes to an end. I also got to deal with extreme narcissism and psychotic breaks during this. But, ultimately, I think it’s time to move onto some new themes. Benita and I have discussed this in great detail, and it all should be coming clear soon.
Hey, Greg clearly enjoyed some of it (like stomping on Lacerator and Warmonger). Which is spot-on; when you’re at the tip-top of the cycle, you feel a little like you’re unstoppable. When Greg rescued Danny, he appeared to be having one of those days.
Glad to see Greg coming out on top of all this. So chapter two, ‘Son of Saturn’?
You are right in many ways, yes. Just not how you expect it work out.
