No Johnny Saturn updates this week, my friends. I’ve got several issues to attend to, not the least of which is finding a colorist who really gets the Silver Age vibe I’m aiming for. I’ll try to put up new material as the week goes on–Scott
I googled it, and your right, monkey and all. I wasn’t going to do it, but now I can’t pass up the opportunity to give Mollie the power of Heart, because “Who but a true machine may know love,” and so forth. Now they just need a talking dog and a hippy and they’re set!
What would the power of heart do? That would be like the power of meekness. With heart, you could suddenly make the villain realize he loves everyone in the world. Then he kills you in the name of love.
Hey now, if you pay close attention, one can see that the power of Heart was actually that of Mind Control by the connection he had with that monkey. And mind control is one incredibly bust power.
Four annoying teens with elemental powers: Earth, Wind, Fire, and Funk, (Just kidding: it was Water) combine their powers with fifth super-annoying younger teen (or was it a pre-teen) with the well-known elemental power of ‘Heart.’ And his pet monkey.
Yes, ‘Heart.’ I wanted to scream every time I heard little whasname shout it. In fact, once, I think I did.
Re-reading that, I sound like some sort of masochist. Captain Planet came on right after a show I did like, and I almost invariably wound up seeing the intro, watching it with the sort of fascination some have for train wrecks before I could collect myself and flip the channel. The perishing thing is that I can’t for the life of me remember what I watched before CP’s slot.
“By your powers combined, I am Johnny Sat…what’s that? What do you mean that’s copyrighted? Captain who?” ;P
Nice drawing of Molly in the first panel, Scott.
But, by the heavens, if she’s ‘Heart,’ I’ll hunt you down and whip you with linguini.
I don’t get the “Heart” reference, Rob.
“Captain Planet”, Scott. It’s what I was alluding to in my comment.

You’ve made your choice, Story. Someday, when you least expect… wait, did you say a talking dog?
Okay, one linguini thrashing canceled, provided the dog shows up with the same month as the first time Mollie squeals ‘Heart!’

Can’t say what the monkey contributed, except, of course, that, as a comic artist yourself, you know that Everything’s Better with Monkeys. http://superdickery.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=31&Itemid=47
Of course, you haven’t had any monkeys so far in Johnny Saturn. Except maybe Maniac Max; I think maybe he counts.

For a girl who had her limbs cut off without anesthesia and then attached to robotics, she is awfully generous about Greg’s demon wrasslin.
” I’m in. ” on Team Saturn.
