Elect, while seeming to have all the superpowers, is, when you get down to it, a reality bender. So, it's possible (and likely) that Elect's last visit bent Utopian's powers and turned them up.
On that same note, Elect would not have affected Brian's sexual orientation, because that would require Elect to come out of denial.
Since Elect was the first meta-human (I assume that's what 'original' means, since I wouldn't describe him as having a creative flair) does that mean he dreamed the whole she-bang up ("dreamed the whole she-bang up" being my technical term for "bent reality to create superheroes, villians, and god knows what else")?
Scary thought.
1) There is an unbroken link between mythological gods and heroes with superheroes, because both are pretty much the same thing.
2) The first actual superhero was Elect, and he set the tradition that everyone else lives in now.
3) As a reality bender, Elect may have inadvertably created the first superheroes, maybe even without knowing it.
4) When we see the supers gathering around Elect for a touch or a nod, each of them gains a slight boost, becoming a trifle more idealized.
5) Utopian might have gained power from his dad's presence, or perhaps he was already growing more powerful on his own, not having achieved the full extent of his powers.
You know, I doubt this explanation explains anything! Sorry!xD
I don't think he got more power JUST from his dad coming by, although I think that's part of. I also wonder if some of his "increased power" is not a psychological reaction to:
a) trying to 'live up' to his dad;
b) showing that he should still be leader of the group;
c) realizing that he'd been taking his power(s) for granted and simply working harder to hone them (i.e. exercising more, etc.)
Or to put it differently, because of his frustration at a, b & c, he's now working harder and gaining more confidence, reflected in a power increase.
You know, I think that confidence is a big part of it. It's been fun for us to watch Utopian grow up, from the super-arrogant "I know everything" stage to the more grounded, realistic Utopian of today. I would be disappointed if any of our cast remained static.
Dr. Synn is another changed character, but I think everyone will come to see that a sane Dr. Synn is more dangerous than a psychopathic one. I guess you could say he was more Joker like, and now he's more Lex Luthor like.
Here's hoping Synn's daughter is less Aunt May-like. Or perhaps less Nanny Ogg-like (Aw, he's just a big softie!, while speaking of her cat, Greebo, the terror of Lancre).
Utopian has matured.
Alignment changed from Arrogant Ass to Mild Jackass.
+300 XP
Utopian has gained a level!
Utopian's Health has increased.
Utopian's Abilities have increased.
Utopian has gained 3 Stat Points.
Utopian has gained a New Ability.
So "blind to homosexuality" is the original super weakness? I wonder how many male crooks were able to escape from Elite just by kissing so he'd believe they had vanished.
The flipside of Elite augmenting and idealizing metas is that the least super of them are also the most like real people.
Interesting point. Elite is blind to homosexuality, even though he doesn't approave of the "lifestyle." He is in denial about it as it regards his son ("No boy of mine will ever…).
I like your point about the least super of the metas. xD
HA! I like any character that can call someone an ass after he was just told how much stronger the other character is getting is getting.
I've said it before but I really enjoy the behind the scenes type stuff. This and the museum of trophies are pretty cool.
Thanks, Dustin! It's funny, when I drew the museum every artifact in there had a story, and my imagination went wild with the possibilities.
Well if being an ass kept him back, then it's a good thing he calmed down mostly now. Otherwise him and Tom can really do some damage.
That or maybe his dad gave him more power, if he dad can do that.

Well, my current thinking is this:

Sa'right. I understand it's a WIP.

Or I could be flat wrong.

Heh–funny!:D
*lol* That's great!
