Hi, Everyone!
For the next couple of weeks we are going to flat colors, at least until after Wizard World Chicago. It came down to rendering each episode properl and missing some updates, or using flats.
Actually, some of you might prefer the flat colors. My inks are pretty detail heavy, so the flat colors compliment them well. I would be interested in your thoughts on this, because I’m always trying to make this comic better, and your input would be valued.

the difference is rather subtle in my opinion. I think I like the shaded ones better, but I'd really have to see a page done both ways to be sure.
I will say that this si the first time I've noticed the tattood amazon, so if she was tattooed and around be, she looks better Flat.

Tactical looks like he's gotten new armor. Regal. I like it.
Thanks, CyberSkull! This new armor is one of my favorite designs yet. I figured Tactical as the mob boss of mob bosses should get an upgrade.

I think the colors look better shaded, with flats it's like something is missing.

Is it just me or does Tactical have a whole "Dark Lord of the Sith" thing going on? Cuz he can really pull it off.
Yeah, I was joking with Benita, saying that Tactical thinks he's Dracula and Darth Vader at the same time.
I like it. We've become so used to comics being painted, shaded, rendered and just being put through the treatment, that a small step back to old school coloring is cool.
I'll admit, that "flat colors" make me go hmmm, but you've pulled it off well. I think it actually brings more attention to your linework.
Darthcula! I really dig the redesign, he looks very feudal. The chest plate and helmet look like a knight and there are some samurai nuances. I really dig it! Nice change from Skorn as well.

Yeah, Skorns all white hair was bugging me. Funny side note about Skorn: In a review, we got criticised for the women going around with too skimpy clothing. We had to wonder if the person had even read the comic, because all the women but Skorn are pretty much covered from chin to toe, if not more. Madame Fishnet? Well, it depends if you count fishnets as covering anything. But, Skorn is it for showing skin, and she had to because those magic tatoos are the source of her power.
Tactical is a world class psychopath and narcissist, so it's no surprise that he would go such grand, over-the-top armor. It's also safe to say that he's had it's capabilities upgraded.

But the Ram's skull and blood motif on the throne also gives him this whole Thulsa Doom vibe as well.
The flats give it a nice Silver Age feel.

I just want to add my accolades to the others vis a vis this page. I really like the tableau of the first panel. It totally says “evil overlord” With his requisite muscle and hot babe lieutenants. The framing is spot on.
